Ilfracombe and Mortehoe Coastguard Rescue teams have been co-responding to incidents around our area for the last few months, and they are now combined as one team, Mullacott Coastguard Search and Rescue.
Along with the new team name, they have taken on a new station, based at Mullacott.
All of our coastguard rescue officers are volunteers who live and work around the local area, and the location of the new station is more central to our ward. This will result in quicker access to the response vehicles and an overall quicker response to incidents around the area.
Our number still remains the same, so if you see anyone in trouble on the coast or in the sea, dial 999 and ask for the coastguard.

Farewell.....
There is a farewell drink on the 1st September from 6pm onwards at The Chichester Arms (HQ2).
All former members of the Mortehoe team are invited to join us in raising a glass (or two...) and help celebrate over 150 years of service to our community.
