New Tramper Route for Woolacombe!

19 April 2022
Woolacombe Tramper Twitchen Valley Circular Route

We are delighted to announce, that as part of our partnership with the North Devon National Trust and Countryside Mobility Scheme, we can now offer Tramper access through the Twitchen Valley.

This is a circular route starting from the Tourist Information Centre of approximately 4km (2.5 miles) - the route takes you along Rockfield Road, up the Donkey Path, through the lower side of Twitchen House Holiday Park, and back down through the Combesgate Valley, and will take approximately 2 hours. Tramper users must be accompanied by and adult, and bear in mind that there is a long steady climb uphill for those on foot.

There are currently two other routes also available for Tramper users - on to Woolacombe beach (by kind permission of Parkin Estates), and through Woolacombe Dunes, to the Porthole Cafe and back along Marine Drive.

The Tramper can be hired from the Tourist Information Centre. The cost is £5 per 2 hour session (plus £2.50 Membership Fee for the Countryside Mobility Scheme if not already a member). For more information, please call 01271 870553, or email [email protected]

Our thanks to the National Trust for upgrading the path to make it suitable for the Tramper, to the Countryside Mobility Scheme for auditing the route, and to Twitchen House Holiday Park for allowing the route to run through the site.
