It's been a long time coming, but Woolacombe Medical Centre is set to re-open soon!
This is a letter that has been sent out by the practice:
"We are delighted to inform the patients of Woolacombe that we have planned to reopen the refurbished Medical Centre mind to late August 2023, we are awaiting final fixes, IT sign off and phone system tests before we can confirm an exact date.
This is 5 years after we started the initial project scope, and after years of navigating COVID 19, the subsequent disruption to the construction industry and managing huge pressure within the NHS we have got this across the line. Hopefully this facility will continue to serve the community for many years to follow.
We are aware many of our patients will be interested in viewing the refurbished center, and as far as possible we would like to try and minimise the footfall when we have full consultation in progress. Therefore we will be having an open doors event on 16th August between 14.00-17.30hrs for anyone who would like to have a look around.
For the first month we will be running at a slightly reduced service whilst we adjust our staffing rota's and make the necessary recruitments. We are intending to schedule an additional GP session to the opening times, and you will continue to see Dr Cullen and Dr Joules as the regular Woolacombe GPs. The Medical Centre will also be used to locate some of our Trainee GPs as a training hub as well as locating some of our remote access Allied Health Professionals adn our Health & Well Being Team in the building.
We hope this comes as some good news for our Woolacombe patients who we know have had some concerns regarding its sustainability over the last few years.
Yours Faithfully
Matt Willis (Managing Partner) and Dr Gareth Jones (Executive GP for Combe Coastal Practice)"
